What's Inside A Electric Linear Actuator

An electric linear actuator is a self-contained power transmission device that converts the high-speed rotation of a motor into a slower, high-force linear push or pull. Inside the housing, three main systems work together: the motor, the drive train, and the feedback/safety mechanisms. The Lead Screw (Drive Screw): A long, threaded rod—typically an Acme (trapezoidal) screw for self-locking or a Ball screw for high efficiency—that acts as the primary transmission. Extension Rod (Inner Tube): Attached to the drive nut, this tube slides out of the actuator body to move the external load. It is usually made of stainless steel or anodized aluminum.
