Ball Screws

Ball screws are feed screws that provide high efficiency due to the rolling motion of the balls between the screw shaft and nut. When the screw rotates, the ball bearings facilitate the linear movement of the nut along the shaft, similar to how a nut moves on a bolt, but with much less friction due to the rolling action. Ball screws are known for high accuracy and repeatability, crucial for precision positioning applications. The ball bearings significantly reduce friction, leading to smoother operation and increased lifespan. Due to low friction, they may be susceptible to backdriving (unintended reverse motion) and may require a braking system. Ball screws are widely used in a variety of industries and applications where precise and efficient linear motion is needed, including: CNC machines, lathes, and milling machines, robotic arms and manipulators, aircraft control systems and satellite, manufacturing processes like welding and assembly etc.
