How To Choose The Right 90 Degree Gearbox for Your Unique Application

To choose the right 90-degree gearbox, you must align its mechanical specifications with your application's physical constraints and operational demands. Torque: Calculate both the required output torque to move the load and the input torque provided by your motor. Ensure the gearbox is rated for the maximum torque it will encounter, including peak loads. Duty Cycle: Determine how many hours per day the gearbox will run. For light-to-moderate duty, gearboxes may be "lubed for life," while severe duty requires regular maintenance schedules for relubrication.

1. Model

KML0 - KML3 is solid input shaft and solid output shafts.

2. Gear Ratio

R1: 1:1, input speed(rpm) = output speed(rpm).

R2: 2:1, input speed(rpm) = 2 times output speed(rpm).

Note: Maximum allowable speed for a spiral bevel gearbox is typically 1500 RPM.
