Custom-designed Spiral Bevel Gearboxes

Custom-designed spiral bevel gearboxes are frequently designed with specialized shaft configurations (2-way, 3-way, or 4-way) to split power from a single motor into multiple outputs. They are often referred to as miter gearboxes because they change the direction of power without modifying speed or torque.

Unique Configurations & Applications

Multi-Shaft Gearboxes: highly custom units with multiple input and output shafts (e.g., 2 inputs / 2 outputs), which is a unique configuration for power splitting or complex motion transfer within a compact footprint.

Integrated Motor Mounts: Designs often incorporate specialized flanges (NEMA, SAE, or custom) to seamlessly couple with specific electric motors (AC, DC, servo). 

Combined Gearing: For applications requiring a specific overall ratio not possible with spiral bevel gears alone, custom designs can integrate a planetary gearbox stage before the bevel stage. 

Application-Specific Housing: Gearboxes can be customized for specific environments. Examples include: Hygienic Versions: Featuring stainless steel shafts and special food-grade lubricants for the food and beverage industry. Corrosion-Resistant: Housings in aluminum or special coatings for washdown or marine applications. Compact Designs:  small frame sizes gearboxes where space and weight are critical, such as in robotics or automation.
