It required input torque to approximately one-third the torque required for the 20 ton machine screw jack. Worm gear ratios are 8:1, 12:1 and 24:1. Custom stroke for all ball screw jacks, maximum travel length up to 4000mm. Because of their efficiency ball screw jacks can be used in heavier duty cycle applications. They also provide good positional accuracy in high speed applications. One potential disadvantage is that ball screw jacks are not self-locking and will require a brake or motor with enough holding torque to prevent the worm shaft from back-driving. Ball screw Jack system is usually used for lifting heavy duty load or lifting platform.
